Ningaloo Marine Interactions is a locally owned and operated eco-tourism company located in Coral Bay, Western Australia. For over twenty years our crew have called this pristine reef home, sharing our passion for the ocean and bringing guests face-to-face with its magnificent inhabitants. Frazer McGregor

Co-Owner, Master Skipper & Founder of the Ningaloo Manta Project

When you step aboard with Frazer, you’re heading out with someone who brings over 25 years of local knowledge from calling the Ningaloo Reef home. Having spent more than a decade studying and protecting the region’s manta rays, he seamlessly blends running a world-class tour with hands-on marine science every time he takes the helm.

Frazer’s research spans across almost the entire local marine ecosystem:

Manta Ray Ecology: Spearheading long-term photo-ID tracking on Ningaloo’s resident manta populations, movement patterns, feeding habits, and their remarkable rapid healing capabilities.
Tiger Sharks: Contributing to local tiger shark research, movement tracking, and tagging initiatives.
Coral Conservation: Educating visitors, school groups, and university students in reef ecology, while conducting ecological monitoring to safeguard coral health.
Sustainable Tourism: Supervising behavioral studies to ensure human encounters on the reef remain gentle, respectful, and zero-impact.

Beyond his work on the water, Frazer serves as the manager of Murdoch University’s Coral Bay Research Station and was a key local advocate in securing Ningaloo’s UNESCO World Heritage listing in 2011. His work has been showcased globally, including features in Tim Winton’s ABC documentary series Nyinggulu and The Sea and Me.

A day on the water with Frazer isn’t just a tour—it’s a rare chance to explore the ocean alongside a scientist who has dedicated his life to protecting Coral Bay. Best of all, his pure love for the ocean and genuine froth for the reef are completely contagious.

Colin Walker

Co-Owner & Master Skipper

Colin has been living and working on Ningaloo Reef for over 25 years. Across his decades on the water, he has driven virtually every boat in Coral Bay starting on the iconic Coral Breeze to some of the region’s very first whale shark tour vessels. As co-owner of Ningaloo Marine Interactions alongside Frazer, Col’s local knowledge of the bay and its surrounding waters is unmatched.

Over twenty years of exploring the reef means Colin has discovered some of the most spectacular, secret snorkel spots in Coral Bay. When he’s at the helm, you’re guaranteed two things: an incredible day exploring pristine marine habitats, and a steady stream of classic Aussie slang paired with his signature, crackin’ dad jokes.

Brittany Pelham

Lead Photographer, Lead Deckhand & Skipper

Brittany has called Coral Bay home for over five years. If you’ve been on tour with us, you’ve no doubt seen her huge smile and experienced her pure stoke for all critters – big and small! Having trained under Frazer’s mentorship to become a qualified skipper, Britt not only drives the boat, but is also our lead deckhand and lead photographer. Over the years, she has essentially become a walking megafauna catalog, with an uncanny ability to identify Ningaloo’s resident manta rays by name, catalogue number, and personal history (often within minutes of jumping in the water with them!).

Beyond her time on the boat, Brittany is deeply involved in marine research and conservation. She is one of Coral Bay’s qualified wildlife rescuers (having trained in wildlife rehabilitation under Balu Blue Foundation), served as crew on Tim Winton’s ABC documentary series Nyinggulu Nyinggulu, and interned with Naturaliste Charters as a part of their Bremer Bay Orca research program.

An accomplished photographer and videographer, Britt’s footage has been featured in major documentaries and publications worldwide, including the BBC and Triple J. Whether she’s driving the boat, guiding your swim, or capturing your in-water memories, Britt brings genuine field experience and an infectious passion to every single day on the reef.
